Dextrins are a group of low molecular weight carbohydrates produced by the hydrolysis of starch or glycogen. They are polymer mixtures of D-glucose units linked by dextrins or glycosidic bonds. What is dextrin and what does it do? It is a starch derivative obtained by treating starch at high temperature. It is used in the production of pressed coal, gypsum board, glue, pellet wood, angle iron, tube, corrugated cardboard boxes, lamination coating, pesticide production, chemical industry and casting industry.
